7 peaks

His face kills me here.

We got the Pass of all Passes this year.
So at 1 month old Jax got to go swimming for his very first time at 7 Peaks.
Turns out taking a brand new baby out and about creates a lot of attention. Who knew?
I didn't know if I was a terrible mom by taking a new baby to a germ infested, public location and dipping him in a pee, germ infested pool?
Well....we survived.
I hadn't been there since my own childhood.
Brought back a lot of memories. And more are in the making!
The babes obviously had a ball!

bless the baby

Thanks to Kourtnee Davis for the cutest blessing announcement EVER!!! http://www.etsy.com/shop/occasiondesign

Jax Nathan Erni was blessed by his dad on July 21, 2013. He was just a little over a month old.
Such an emotional, special day for me as his mom, yet I was proud of myself that I wasn't a blubbering mess. Also such a surreal time. I've witnessed many baby blessings,
but it was so humbling to hear your very own baby be blessed,
by you very own amazing husband. So special its hard to put into words.

Nate gave such a touching blessing.
We were able to transcribe the blessing to read for years and years to come. Both sides of the family got to be here!! As well as some great friends. It was perfect timing with the reunion
going on at the same time.

We had home made Cafe Rio at the Hyde Park Civic Center after the event. Thanks to everyone who helped with the food preparation. It was a great day!

My only regret is that I didn't take more pictures. I wish I had pics of the people that attended his special day. At least we got some pictures of Jax.
Let's not let the custom made outfit go unnoticed. My mom used her amazing sewing skills to put together his studly suit. We shopped everywhere and couldn't find anything that I was crazy about,
so being the saint that my mother is, she whipped one up.
I LOVED it.
And how great is it to be able to tell Mr. Jax that his grandma made his blessing outfit!
Also Nate's grandma/Grossmutti made his blanket
And a friend from Georgia made his little booties.
The whole works was made with some serious love.

meet the muegglers

It was the Mueggler family reunion this summer.
This meant baby Jax finally got to meet Grammy and Grandpa Erni.
They were so excited!!
They spent two whole weeks in their home valley, before they had to head back to Georgia.
He also got to meet his aunts, uncles and cousins! So lucky to have family stay with us!
Can't wait for the next opportunity to be reunited.

Elsie's blessing.

gran fondon't

Nate, Dad, Jake and Mike conquer the Gran Fondo yet another year.
Due to being WAY out of shape and birth, there was no participation from me this year.
They did great!

July 13, 2013

my grandma is cooler than yours

My grandma turned 27 for the 59th time.
Let's just say that I never forget what year she was born. It has become tradition for her posterity to follow her like little ducklings on our bikes around Preston, ID.
We will always remember these times.
I love that Jax gets to be a part of it this year.
Birthday Girl: July 9, 1927. And she could still run circles around me!

america

This summer is all about the firsts!

Jax had his very first 4th of July and first vacation.
Why not take a 2 week old to the fireworks? Did great, until the finale.
So great to get out of the house and meet up with friends and family!

And so great to spent the weekend up in Bear Lake and Nate's grandma's cabin.
Jax pretty much slept the entire time!
But had a blast!

>>Milestone alert <<
Good bye belly button. 4th of July weekend ended with a REAL bath thanks to this loss.
So what do you do with this "roast beef" looking left over umbilical cord remnants??
Through it away? Scrapbook? Eat? I don't know??

His may or may not still be sitting in our room. It is so terrible the things you get attached to. I was also the child that wanted to keep a collection of all the teeth I had lost.
Way cooler than putting it under your pillow.

jaxy poo and macy magoo

Jax and Macy!
These two cousins are 2 months apart, almost to the day.
So fun having babies the same time as my sisters. Shana, you are next!! Couldn't be more excited that we all live close together. They will grow up to be bestest of friends.
The start of many more pictures to come in life!

sponge bath time

So, I had no idea how to give an infant a sponge bath. I was really nervous. Not sure why, it can't be that hard. None-the-less it was necessary due to the massive explosion the diaper failed to contain, and it had been a full week since birth.  (Is it normal to wait that long??)
This was a task for grandma.
I watched and learned. My mom was a natural and Jax did pretty goo
d too. I was expecting him to scream the entire time. Figured this was a video opportunity. I was of no help except to document the momentous occation. That's my job!
