daddy time

Jax and Nate time melts my heart. Cheesy but true.
Nate can't wait to have daddy/son bonding time whenever he can!

First shopping trip was to Kohls. Purchased some patio furniture.

Nate love naps with Baby Jax. Love how this picture shows how looong his limbs are.

Sere"nate"ing Jax. Such a happy scene to walk into on a Sunday morning

That's funny the majority of picture of Nate and Jax are of the two of them sleeping. Why don't I do that?

We walked our burrito boy by our neighbors who had relatives visiting from Scotland. They put some change in Jax's stroller. They said that their tradition to do this will bring good fortune to the baby financially. Thanks you Scotland.

So grateful that I have a husband that jumps to changing diapers. It's nice to have a break from changing him.

Talent! For Grandma Brown's Birthday she wanted to take her family on a bike ride. She lead the way while the rest of us followed behind. Nate pushed the stroller while riding the his bike while I walked. I tried riding a bide, but was still a little sore down under from giving squeezing him out. Jax was 3 weeks old here!

sleepless nights

Nate was able to spend the first couple of days home with Jax and I before he went back to work. I was so glad that he was there with us as we adjusted to being home.
The first night we had him home we will never forget.
None of us got any sleep.

Jax woke up what seemed like EVERY hour. One of the times he woke up he pooed and peed all over the both of us. We were catching the poo in his diaper as his little fire hose was spraying all over us and the bed. The only thing we could do after everything was under control was laugh.

What were we in for? I've always heard about sleepless nights and the adjustments to parenthood. Now we are living it and making our own memories. And thank you Melese and Jake for showing us the art of swaddling. Made such a difference on how well Mr. Jax slept through the night.

The first day home is a slight blur. Conveniently enough the painters where there to paint the exterior of our home. This meant that all of the windows where taped off with paper. I would peek outside the window to see if there was still a world out there and would see nothing. We were literally in a cave. Probably could have benefited from seeing a little familiar sunshine at this time. Thank you painters for having such impeccable timing.

visitors

Jax has so many people who love him all ready. Family and friends came to visit him both at the hospital and at home. Thank you everyone for the love and support.

Pricked his little heal.

mom or dad??

Who do I look like??

The ultimate question.
Does Jax look like his mom or his dad?
Right out of the womb I thought he was all me, then I saw a picture of Nate when he was a baby and thought he looked exactly like him.
Now, I have NO idea.
It changes day to day for me. Right now when he is asleep he looks more like me and when he is awake I think he looks more like Nate. So as "they" say, he is a good mix! Either way he is stinking cute!

newborn photoshoot

We were so lucky to have my cousin Charlsie Oliverson in town to take Jax's new born pictures. http://www.charlsieoliverson.com/

She was here visiting from Oregon in transition to moving to Arizona.
She did such an amazing Job. Nate wanted us to take our own newborn pics. I was VERY adamant about having a professional photographer capture this tender time.

We found out very quickly that taking photos of a brand new baby in quite the art and was very glad that we had Charlsie take them while we observed. The home has to be the right temperature, baby needs to be fed and sleepy, and molding the little one into desirable positions takes time and patience.

It was so fun to watch Charlsie in her element, and the results were exactly what we were looking for!!

I love how he fits right in his dads hands.
