Nate was able to spend the first couple of days home with Jax and I before he went back to work. I was so glad that he was there with us as we adjusted to being home.
The first night we had him home we will never forget.
None of us got any sleep.
Jax woke up what seemed like EVERY hour. One of the times he woke up he pooed and peed all over the both of us. We were catching the poo in his diaper as his little fire hose was spraying all over us and the bed. The only thing we could do after everything was under control was laugh.
What were we in for? I've always heard about sleepless nights and the adjustments to parenthood. Now we are living it and making our own memories. And thank you Melese and Jake for showing us the art of swaddling. Made such a difference on how well Mr. Jax slept through the night.
The first day home is a slight blur. Conveniently enough the painters where there to paint the exterior of our home. This meant that all of the windows where taped off with paper. I would peek outside the window to see if there was still a world out there and would see nothing. We were literally in a cave. Probably could have benefited from seeing a little familiar sunshine at this time. Thank you painters for having such impeccable timing.
